Honda is refreshing its popular minivan dubbed the Odyssey for the 2017 model year. This excellent minivan is an unbeatable champion when it comes to carrying growing families and their goods. SUVs might seem quite tempting, but if you are looking for an environmental-friendly, efficient, and spacious model with low step-in height and sliding doors, the Odyssey has you covered. This model was built primarily with family in mind, and therefore it is extremely reliable and safe. Not to mention that it is easier to park the Odyssey than any other full-size SUV out there. The 2017 Honda Odyssey will be less fuel-thirsty than other models in its segment and it is the shuttle you’ve been looking for all this time. Let’s check what this comfy 8-seater has to offer to its customers.
Exterior of 2017 Honda Odyssey
The upcoming Odyssey might represent a motorized cargo box but it still carries a touch of elegance with itself. It features lowered roofline, wide stance, and angular lines that make it more attractive and stylish. It still sports the iconic twin-bar grille, darker-tint headlamps, and rounded fog lights. Generally, not much has been changed for the 2017 model. The Odyssey is still pretty handsome model. What sets the 2017 Odyssey apart from other models in its segment is “lightning-bolt” window which provides great visibility for those sitting in the back. Exterior design might be subjective but we dare to say that we like its unique and bold styling.
2017 Honda Odyssey Interior
Honda didn’t want to leave anything to chance and used every single part of the cabin and turned it into useful and functional spot. To get extra amount of cargo space, you can easily fold down the third-row of seats. The cabin also features a lot of cup and bottle holders. We must say that we simply lost the track of how many of these the cabin featured. All the controls inside of the cabin are simple, understandable, and within easy reach. The cabin of the 2017 Honda Odyssey is loaded to gills with cutting edge technology.
The trim level with minimum level of equipment (well the word “minimum” is a bit inappropriate to be used here) includes an 8-inch touch-screen display, an audio system with seven speakers, Bluetooth connectivity, power front seats, etc. As you climb the trim ladder you will get even more. If you decide for the EX model, you will get all of the aforementioned equipment along with 3-zone climate control, push-button start, 8-passenger seating, and more.
2017 Odyssey Engine
From the very base LX trim level to the top-of-the-line Touring Elite, there is only one powertrain option. It is a 3.5-liter V6 rated at 248 horses and 250 lb-ft of torque. Power is routed through a 6-speed automatic gearbox. The gearbox directs power towards the front wheels. Unfortunately, AWD isn’t offered. EPA rates it at 19 mpg in the city and 28 mpg on the highway. Now when you know details about power output and fuel economy ratings, it is easy to conclude that there is no need for the second engine option, right?
Pricing of Honda Odyssey 2017
The 2017 Honda Odyssey starts at roughly $30,000.
