The 2016 Toyota Corolla Special Edition was presented to the world at this year’s Chicago Auto Show. While Toyota hasn’t explained what the special occasion is, the soon to come 50-year anniversary of the Corolla model pretty much explains it. The Toyota Corolla 2016 is based on the sporty Corolla S Plus trim level, and it will have a variety of unique features coming as standard. These features improve both comfort and functionality and also add a slightly sportier touch to the otherwise soft compact model.
2016 Toyota Corolla redesign
The only exterior 2016 Toyota Corolla colors available are Black Sand Pearl, Absolutely Red, and Super White, which are exclusive to the Special Edition. The model also comes with a set of 17-inch, light-alloy wheels with a special design and a gloss black finish, as standard. Further on, the inherited wide-mouth grille and angry looking headlights decorate the front end, giving the new Corolla a much more aggressive overall appearance, compared to any of the earlier models. The side profile features a subtle wake that represents a character line and goes upward toward the rear. When speaking of the rear, the back end is a little vintage-looking, with a pair of backlights that are connected with a horizontal line on the trunk and few creases on each side of the bumper.
As far as the inside of the car goes, the 2016 Toyota Corolla Special Edition comes with a black interior and red contrasting stitching as well as a red highlighted dash and door trim for a more sporty feel. The 2016 model also comes with a Smart Key System and pushbutton start and Special Edition floor mats with logos and exterior badges that are unique to the model, will come as standard. The optional equipment will include the Entune Premium Audio with Navigation and App Suite, as well as a powered sunroof with tilt and slide functions. Other than the upper mentioned features, every part of the interior is almost identical to that of the Corolla S Plus.

No performance improving modification has been made on the limited-edition version.
