Kia is known for its high quality of the cars they make. People always expect something new and unusual from this company. The 2016 Kia Rio is an improved version model of Kia’s best selling vehicle. This is the reason why the news about the launch of a new Kia Rio 2016 has made such an echo in the car fans world.
2016 Kia Rio redesign
The 2016 Kia Rio Sedan has a bit more sporty look, thanks to the new front and rear fascias. The round foglights with the headlights have been made slightly concave, and there is the new “Tiger Nose” grille. New horizontal lines have been added to the lower part of the bumper, and it is also larger and straighter than it used to be. On the back, the vehicle has gained a set of new rear lights, now closer to the outside, in order to spread the widened look of the rear end. There are two new 2016 Kia Rio colors added: Urban Blue and Digital Yellow.
AS for the interior, Kia is now using more high-density foam, so the noise and vibration would be reduced. Also premium touch materials are used for the assembling of the cabin. The 2016 Kia Rio’s inside has been updated with a piano-black center console and satin-finish bezels surrounding the air vents. A new Designer Package gives the cabin black cloth seats, with accents of leatherette trim and gray stitching. The base model, LX, is equipped with standard features such as: a 6-way manual driver’s seat, steering wheel-mounted audio controls, electric power steering, air conditioning, a USB port, Sirius XM capabilities, and hill-start assist. The EX model all upper mentioned, plus, cruise with steering wheel-mounted controls, a tilt-and-telescoping steering wheel, power windows, and keyless entry. The Kia Rio 2016 SX model adds a leather-wrapped steering wheel and steering column-mounted paddle shifters, backup camera, the Supervision meter, an upgraded navigation system, and a standard power sunroof.

The new Kia Rio 2016 Sedan has the same 1.6-liter 4-cylinder engine as the previous model. It is able to produce 138 horsepower and 123 lb-ft of torque. The engine is paired with a 6-speed manual transmission as standard, and sends the power to the front wheels. As far as we know, there will be little or no change when it comes to acceleration and maximum speed and the estimated top speed stays 105 mph while the acceleration 0 – 60 mph is still 9.5 seconds, like in the previous model.
2016 Kia Rio price and release date
The price of the new Kia Rio 2016 is estimated to be around $14,000 which is unchanged compared to the 2015 model. The main competitors will be Chevy Sonic, Nissan Versa Note and Ford Fiesta. The 2016 Kia Rio is expected to be available at dealers near the end of March this year.
