It seems that, over the years, the full-size SUVs that helped the rise of popularity of this type of vehicle have not been able to keep the pace up with this market. The problem with full-size SUVs is that they can be quite expensive and while they are really great on both highways and off-road, the average driver does not need this kind of car. Because of that, major car manufacturers had to start producing cheaper SUVs. Honda, the Japanese car manufacturer, still won’t give up on full-size SUVs and they have prepared a new full-size SUV to represent them in this market – the 2016 Honda Pilot.
Exterior of 2016 Honda Pilot
The 2016 Honda Pilot is all about aggressive and masculine looks, like a proper full-size SUV. The next-generation Pilot fits perfectly in the current Honda lineup – the design of the exterior is similar to the design that was introduced with the new Honda NSX (later were introduced both new Accord and new Civic, which have similar design). The features of this design are the headlights with newest components (sometimes referred as the “Jewel eyes” headlights) with integrated LED daytime running lights, large black grille with chrome accents on edges and taillights that are connected by a chrome part that houses the Honda logo. The whole SUV got the new design, very different from the design that was used on the previous model, however, the chassis and the platform have remained the same, so there will be no changes in the dimensions of the 2016 Honda Pilot.
2016 Honda Pilot Interior
The interior of the 2016 Honda Pilot is designed with the comfort of all eight passengers in mind (the Pilot has three rows of seats and can carry up to 8 adult passengers). When you take a look on the inside of the Pilot, you immediately know that this is an expensive and luxurious car. The previous model felt crowded on the inside and since the Japanese manufacturer decided not to change the size of this SUV, they had to redesign the complete interior. First, they decided to create a completely new set of seats – but they had to be lighter and smaller. After that, they worked on a smaller, but more functional dashboard. The result is an amazing interior, that is both luxurious and functional at the same time – with lots of features and storage space – ideal for long trips with family!
2016 Pilot Honda Engine
The 2016 Honda Pilot will be offered with only one engine – the popular 3.5l Earth Dreams V6, that produces 249 horsepower. While for some it might look that this engine is under-powered, the Japanese manufacturer claims that it can easily take 8 adult passengers and haul a trailer with 2 tons of cargo. This engine will be paired with a 5-speed automatic transmission that has “Grade Logic” technology, which is able to adapt the engine performance according to the current road conditions.
2016 Pilot Price
The price of the base 2016 Honda Pilot should be around $30,000.
Release date of Honda Pilot 2016
The 2016 Honda Pilot is already on sale across worldwide dealership from late 2015.
