The Chevrolet Trailblazer has been produced by Chevrolet since 2000. The Trailblazer nameplate was first introduced in 1999 as an upscale trim line of the Blazer and in 2002 it turned into a separate model. The first generation (2002-2005) is based on a truck platform called GMT360, with all models featuring four-wheel drive as an option, independent front suspension, and a five-link rear suspension. The Trailblazer won the North American Truck of the Year award in 2002, and the 4.2 L I6 Atlas LL8 engine appeared on the Ward’s 10 Best Engines list from 2002-2205 with innovative features such as DOHC, Variable Valve Timing (VVT) on the exhaust camshaft, and GM’s patented Lost-foam casting process. The second generation Trailblazer debuted as a concept at the 2011 Dubai Motor Show and later in 2012 as a production model at the Bangkok Motor Show. The new 2017 Chevrolet Trailblazer will have excellent features and the company is planning to appear once more on the US market. Changes are expected in exterior design and tech improvements will also be included within the interior.
