BMW is getting ready to launch a revamped version of its popular all-rounder, the X3. The X3 is the best choice if you are looking for a model that combines BMW’s trademark driving dynamics, versatility, luxury, power, and efficiency. The X3 was refreshed in 2015 and it now receives only minor updates to mimic BMW’s latest design language. BMW will add a new four-banger diesel engine to the lineup, which is maybe the greatest change for the 2017 BMW X3. We used the recent spy shots and rumors to help you get a clear picture of the neo-X3. Read the article below and find out more about it.

2017 BMW X3 Exterior

Expect a more refined exterior for the 2017 model year. The front fascia of the car will carry the trademark two-kidney grille, which will probably be a bit larger this time. The headlights will also be slightly refreshed. The same rounded fog lights will be carried over from the current generation. The side profile gained new body line running straight from the fender back and it seems to be sharper than that of the outgoing model. The production form of the X3 should receive only minor updates on its rear end. The spy shots reveal the refreshed X3 boasts the dual exhaust and the roof fitted with a moonroof for an amazing outward visibility.

Interior of 2017 BMW X3

Unfortunately, the spy shots we’ve got do not help us when it comes to the interior department. The carmaker keeps details under wraps and we know almost nothing about the ne-X3’s interior. What we’ve noticed is that it has the dash which seems to be elevated over the instrument cluster. We anticipate the instrument cluster will carry over from the current generation, but an entertainment screen will be larger. In terms of materials, we expect leather-wrapped seats for sure. To extend cargo room, customers will probably be offered a 60-40 folding rear seat. Since the 2017 X3 will use the CLAR platform, we assume that there won’t be any changes in terms of space, both cargo and passenger.

X3 Power-plants

Some rumors gave us a hint that the 2017 BMW X3 will be powered by a number of gasoline mills and a new diesel unit. The 2015 X3 is powered by the 2.0-liter, turbocharged four-cylinder engine, the turbocharged 3.0-liter power-plant, and the diesel turbocharged, four-banger diesel drivetrain. As far as the outputs of the engines are concerned, the 2.0-liter delivers 240 horses, the 3.0-liter puts out 300 horses, and the diesel cranks out 180 ponies. We assume that the same engines will be offered in the 2017 model, but with improved output ratings. Details about the new diesel engine are still shrouded in secrecy.

Pricing of 2017 X3

It is still way too early to talk about the price but the least we can do is to share the pricing of the current model with you. The least expensive 2015 X3 starts out at $39,000. The top-of-the-line trim starts out at $46,800. We think that the starting prices won’t change much once the 2017 model hits the market.

On the list of the X3’s competition are several excellent models including the Land Rover Evoque and the Audi Q5.
