The Australian market will soon get another rugged and body-on-frame SUV called the 2016 Toyota Fortuner. There are many reasons why the 2016 Toyota Fortuner should be your choice if you are looking for a vehicle of this kind and some of them are the powerful turbodiesel engine under the bonnet, a part-time 2-speed four-wheel drive system, seating for seven, and electronic locking rear differential. The rear end hosts interestingly designed taillights with a lot of accenting around them. This time, the carmaker used a lot of chrome to make the vehicle more appealing. The carmaker offers the 2016 Fortuner with 18 inch and 17 inch alloy rims. Of course, the carmaker followed trends and equipped the Fortuner with bunch of features such as a rearview camera, reverse parking sensors, fog lights, roof rack, and others. Some of the aforementioned features are offered on higher trim levels only. As for the exact details, the upcoming 2016 Toyota Fortuner is 188.77 inches long, with its wheelbase measuring 108,07 inches.
Toyota Fortuner 2016 Interior
The 2016 Toyota Fortuner will, due to its many qualities, be appealing to different kinds of customers. Its interior design will be much alike that of the Hilux. It’s at least what some trusted sites reported. Therefore, the new Fortuner will arrive with nice gauge cluster, featuring two analog gauges. There will be a large touch-sensitive screen for the infotainment system, navigation, radio, and vehicle’s major controls. The list of standard equipment includes features like dual-zone air conditioning, hill-start control, airbags, and others. As you already know, the Fortuner comes with 2+3+2 seating format. The third row of seats can be folded down to get a flat load surface.
2016 Toyota Fortuner Engine
Toyota won’t offer diversity of engines for the 2016 Fortuner. There will be only one engine option and it is a 2.8-liter 1GD four-banger turbodiesel engine. The engine comes paired with a 6-speed automatic gearbox and delivers 174 hp and 331 pound feet of torque. A six speed manual gearbox is also available, but in that case torque rating is 309 pound-feet.
Release date and price of new 2016 Toyota Fortuner
The new 2016 Toyota Fortuner is scheduled to go on sale in October, 2015. The estimated price of this model is $45,000. Higher trim levels cost more.
