Infiniti’s entry-level luxury crossover continues mostly unchanged for next year. However, word mostly hides a few things of its own. 2016 Infiniti QX50 has finally grew in size which is supposed to fix the cramped rear and, ultimately enhance the sales figures. The Infiniti QX50 wasn’t that popular car in the States, but things should change a bit now, since it gets some more room around the back. Still, it is a fine compact luxury crossover SUV with lots of power and entry-level luxury refinement which comes at a reasonable price.

As already mentioned, the new Infiniti QX50 2016 which was already presented for Chinese market, grew 3.2 inches in its wheelbase. Otherwise, new model carries over without any significant design changes. Front end still features the same stripe grille and laid-back, slightly upswept modern headlamps. There’s nothing new to its midsection as well, and around the back, crossover gets hatchback’s tail-gate with oval tail-lights and uninspiring bumper. There are seven 2016 Infiniti QX50 colors available for new model: Black Obsidian, Graphite Shadow, Liquid Platinum, Malbec Black, Midnight Garnet, Moonlight White and new Hagane Blue.

Interior

Interior continues without any significant revisions as well. Like every Infiniti ‘s crossover, the 2016 Infiniti QX50 also features somewhat large dashboard with protruded midsection. Control panel gets the standard 7-inch color monitor which can be upgraded to touch screen display with hard drive storage for 3-D navigation maps on top, Journey grade. All models get leather upholstery, but base rear-wheel drive models don’t get heated front seats for some reason. Apart from better touch screen display, Premium package adds Bose 11-speaker premium sound system to replace basic 6-speaker one. Even though cargo space is bound to remain the same (small, that is), at least from now on, passengers in rear seat will have a few problems less to worry about thanks to wheelbase’s prolongment. Finally, safety features include a rearview camera with optional around view monitor, blind spot warnings, lane departure warning, forward collision warning and adaptive cruise control.
